The Canero Group proposed an eight-story, 247-unit rental complex at 24735 South Dixie Highway in the Princeton neighborhood of unincorporated south Miami-Dade County. The Coral Gables–based firm had the roughly two-acre site under contract from an entity led by Rosa Garcia. Plans called for a multifamily building spanning the property, which was largely vacant except for a 5,400-square-foot retail building that included the A-1 Groceries store.
The project positioned Canero among a growing number of developers targeting south Miami-Dade, where buildable land is more abundant and pricing is lower than in the urban core. The 247-unit proposal underscored the firm’s focus on rental housing in emerging submarkets and has since advanced as part of Canero’s current development pipeline.
